Data protection policy

Vitaphone GmbH takes the protection of your personal data quite seriously. We believe that it is important to inform you of how we handle your personal data, and to give you the option of having an influence on the use of such data. For this reason, we would like to ask you to carefully read this data protection policy.

1.    Collection and processing of log data

Upon a visit to our website, www.vitaphone.de, and with each retrieval of a file, the following data are logged on our web server:

  • browser type and browser version
  • name of the retrieved file and/or site
  • date and time of day of the retrieval
  • the amount of data transferred, along with the notification of whether the retrieval was successful

Such are not personal data. Thus, it is not possible for us to attribute the collected data to a certain natural person. We evaluate all such data solely for statistical purposes. No transmission to any third party takes place. We do not engage in any linkage of such data with other data. In addition, after a statistical evaluation, the data are deleted on a regular basis within one week.

2.    Use of personal data

We collect personal data only if and to the extent that you yourself make such available to us with your knowledge. In particular, any processing or use of such personal data takes place only to the extent necessary for conducting the service and for the handling of inquiries or orders, and ordered and/or permitted by statutory provisions. Beyond this, any use of such personal data for the purposes of advertising and for the configuration of our services takes place only if you have expressly provided us with your consent to this.

At any time, you have the right to revoke any consent that you have given.

An indication of the processing purposes can be found in the appropriate places of our website and is not subject to subsequent change. Without your consent, any transmission of the data to a third party takes place only if we are legally obligated to do so.

If, within these sites, you retrieve pages or files and are thereby requested to enter personal data, please note that such transmission of data takes place unsecured over the Internet, and thereby the data could become noticed by third parties, or could even be falsified.

The storage and processing of such personal data take place solely within Germany.

3.    Newsletter

If you want to order our newsletter, in addition to your e-mail address, we need confirmation that you are the owner of the indicated e-mail address, and that you consent to the receipt of the newsletter. Such data are collected only for the purpose of being able to send the newsletter to you, and to document our authorisation in this regard. No transmission of the data to any third party takes place. At any time, you may revoke the order for the newsletter and your consent to the storage of your e-mail address. With the deregistration, you object to the use of your e-mail address. We shall then immediately delete your e-mail address and any additional data transmitted in connection with the newsletter registration.

4.    Use of cookies

Cookies are data records that are sent from the web server to the web browser of the user and stored there for later retrieval. You determine yourself whether cookies can be collected by adjusting your browser such that you are informed prior to any storage of a cookie, and any storage takes place only if you expressly accept this.

We use cookies only for the purpose of receiving information on the use of our web presence, and for optimisation and statistical purposes (on this, see section on Google Analytics).

The data records do not contain personal information. No consolidation with any personal data that you have made available takes place.

5.    Right to disclosure

You have the right to, any time, receive disclosure of the data stored on your identity, including the origin and recipient of your data along with the purpose of the data processing. Additionally, you have the right to correct, block and delete incorrect data. Please address your inquiry in writing or by e-mail to our addresses specified below.

This data protection policy only applies to the contents on our servers and does not cover the websites linked on our site.

6.    Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. In no event will Google associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may prevent the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data collected regarding you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
The data collection and storage may be objected to at any time with effect for the future. In view of the discussion regarding the use of analysis tools with full IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the "_anonymizeIp()" extension, and therefore further processes IP addresses only in shortened form, in order to bar any linkage with a particular person.
